Tokyo Ghoul

Tokyo Ghoul is a Japanese dark fantasy manga series written and illustrated by Sui Ishida. The story centers around Ken Kaneki, a college student who, after a chance encounter with a ghoul—a creature that can only survive by eating human flesh—undergoes a transformation into a half-ghoul himself. This condition forces him to navigate his new life, which involves the struggles of living among both humans and ghouls, as well as facing the existential and moral dilemmas that arise from his dual identity. The series explores themes of identity, humanity, and societal conflict, set against a backdrop of a dark, dystopian Tokyo where ghouls exist in hiding from a society that hunts them. Tokyo Ghoul has gained a large fanbase and has been adapted into an anime series, video games, and animated films.
