G League

The G League, officially known as the NBA G League, is a professional basketball league in the United States that serves as the official minor league of the National Basketball Association (NBA). It was established in 2001 as the NBA Development League (NBA D-League) and rebranded to its current name in 2017 after a sponsorship agreement with Gatorade. The league is designed to develop young players, referees, and coaches, providing a platform for talent to progress to the NBA. Teams in the G League are often affiliated with NBA franchises, allowing them to share player rosters and facilitate player development through assignments and call-ups. The G League also hosts its own season, featuring a regular schedule and playoffs, showcasing emerging basketball talent and offering fans competitive games.
