Boxing

Boxing is a combat sport defined by two participants, typically wearing protective gloves and engaging in a contest of strength, speed, and strategy within a roped rectangular area known as a ring. The objective is to score points by landing punches on the opponent while avoiding being hit. Boxing matches are divided into rounds, and they can end in various ways, including knockout (KO), technical knockout (TKO), or by judges’ decision based on scoring criteria.

The sport has a rich history, often characterized by its rules and regulations set forth by various governing bodies, most prominently the World Boxing Association (WBA) and the International Boxing Federation (IBF). Boxing encompasses different weight classes, ensuring fair competition among athletes of similar sizes. It is not only popular as a professional sport but also as an amateur discipline, with competitions like the Olympics showcasing emerging talent. The training for boxing involves rigorous physical conditioning, technical skill development, and mental preparation, making it a demanding yet rewarding sport for both participants and spectators.
